Keynote Speaking

change agency

The art of agency in an AI world

LEADERSHIP, LEVERAGE, AND THE LONG GAME:      A PLAYBOOK .

A tactical talk for those who intend to rally the next decade. AI is re-writing what we automate; it cannot re-write who decides. Megan traces the arc from development work across 24 countries to national policy change, from a fourth bedroom to 2025 ACT Australian of the Year, and pulls out what actually worked: timing
reading the room, automating capability, picking fights worth winning.

The room walks out with

What agency looks like in an AI-saturated world and who really holds it; the timing discipline behind moves that land; a working playbook for leading change rather than lagging or being led.

Best for:  Corporate leadership, AI transformation programs, executive off-sites, government and non-profit leaders, women in leadership.
 system disruption

How to shift a system

THE OPERATING MANUAL FROM DISRUPTING SYSTEMS AT THE FRONTLINE.

Systems don't change until people do. The world  faces poly crisis at the same time as AI powers people to find solutions. Megan unpacks where the leverage point sits, how constraint becomes capability, why proof beats permission, and what it takes to hold your nerve until the inevitable shift arrives. Lessons from 24 countries and a national policy campaign run from a fourth bedroom.

The room walks out with

A map of leverage points in their own system; the proof is permission operating doctrine; the patience architecture that outlasts institutional resistance.

Best for: executive transformation leaders; government; research and policy institutions; strategy teams; non-profit leaders
THOUGHT LEADERSHIp

Presence is the first policy of the AI age

SHE BUILT IT BEFORE THE WORLD DISCOVERED THE NEED.

Most governments are still debating solutions to drive-up waning schooling attendance. In 2017, Megan already designed, built, and proved a human-agentic model for keeping learners connected. This talk makes the case that presence is the design principle for education and work in the AI age, and shows what operational proof feels like when the field is still writing discussion papers.

The room walks out with

Presence as a testable design principle for schools; what a working human-agentic deployment looks like at national scale; the policy and productivity case.

best for: government, un and multilateral organisations, educators, ed-tech and health-tech, corporate executives
EDUCATION FUTURES

End of the factory school

WHAT EDUCATION BECOMES WHEN THE INDUSTRIAL MODEL EXPIRES.

The school system most countries still run was built for a bygone era. AI is widening the gap
between what schools do and what learners and countries need. This talk maps what has to
change: curriculum, assessment, buildings, and the assumption that learning requires a seat in a
room and protectionism from technology.

THE ROOM WALKS OUT WITH

The gap analysis between industrial schooling and cognitive-era demand; the redesign agenda;
where their institution sits on it.

BEST FOR: Education and health leaders, SCHOOLS, UNIVERSITIES, government, UN organisations, ed-tech, innovators.
SOCIAL INNOVATION

When the robot saved a life

THE LOUNGEROOM PLEDGE THAT BECAME A NATIONAL SERVICE

Innovation gets talked about as though the hard part is the idea. It isn't. The hard part is seeing
what's missing clearly enough to build the bridge, then getting others across it. Megan pledged a world-first robot service in a Canberra loungeroom, built it from her fourth bedroom, and fitted it into school systems. This is how.

THE ROOM WALKS OUT WITH

The inferential leap that finds the gap; implementation science from the frontline; what
demonstration-before-mandate makes possible.

BEST FOR: UN organisations, government, ed-tech and health-tech, corporates, philanthropic venturers.

Agency as the only human edge in the AI era: agentic tech × human agency, emerging technology, innovation, leadership, women changemakers and future makers.

Workshop and full-day intensive

The keynote argument turned into working architecture: frameworks applied to the participants' own systems.

EXECUTIVE BRIEFING ADD-ON / ADVISORY

A session for the leadership team on the same day as the keynote. Strategic advisory for changemakers, and/or those building at the intersection of agentic technology and human capability: scoped engagements, direct.

ABOUT

Megan Gilmour

SPEAKER, ADVISER, Chief OF CHANGE

Megan Gilmour works at the frontier where agentic technology meets human agency. She reads systems the way others read rooms: who the movers and shakers are, what the pattern says, where the levers are, where humanity is leaving or lacking. She knows what to move.

Megan founded MissingSchool in a Canberra lounge room, built a world-first human agentic model, and proved it inside school systems across Australia. She shows governments, businesses, and leaders that change is inevitable and that agency is meeting the future of change: not blocking it, not waiting for it.

She speaks with equal authority to an auditorium, a boardroom and a senate committee. Her unreservedly favourite audiences are kids.
